The Story

Ganesha is often shown receiving: offerings of sweets, flowers, devotion itself. Sacred Offering holds this exchange at its centre, the figure caught mid-gesture between giving and receiving, abundance flowing in both directions at once.

The piece is entirely hand-embroidered on cotton canvas, built up through fine threadwork, hand-applied sequins, and bead detailing, techniques carried forward by artisan families across generations and brought together here over months of continuous, patient handwork. On this black ground the palette reads at maximum contrast: pinks, yellows and vermilion lift off the dark, and the crystal work catches light like points scattered across a night sky. A companion version on deep maroon holds the same composition in a warmer, quieter register.

Sacred Offering is part of KURU's debut Sacred Threads collection, created under the artistic direction of Shantnu Sihag, trained at Istituto Marangoni and Rubelli Venice. Each artwork is entirely hand-embroidered, and the intricacy of materials and technique means no two pieces can ever be truly identical. Every artwork carries its own character, impossible to replicate exactly by hand, and is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
