Refund policy
Refund & Returns Policy
Effective Date: 23 August 2026
At KURU Creative Studio LLP, every artwork is a unique, handcrafted creation, conceived, drawn, and embroidered by our artists specifically for you. The nature of this work means our returns framework is built around craft integrity, not conventional retail logic.
1. No Returns or Exchanges for Custom / Made-to-Order Artworks
All artworks sold through KURU Creative Studio LLP are made-to-order and crafted with deep intention and significant artisanal labour. We therefore do not accept returns, exchanges, or issue refunds for:
• Change of mind after order placement
• Slight tonal or texture variations between screen display and the physical artwork (natural under hand-embroidery; detailed product photographs and material descriptions are provided)
• Variations inherent to the handmade nature of the work
📌 We strongly encourage you to review all artwork details, photographs, and dimensions carefully before placing your order. If you have questions, write to us before purchasing. We love helping collectors make confident decisions.
2. Pre-Shipment Approval Process
To ensure your complete satisfaction before dispatch:
• Once your artwork is completed, we share detailed photographs and/or a short video via WhatsApp or email for your review and approval.
• Dispatch is initiated only after your explicit approval.
• Once approved and dispatched, the order is considered accepted. Any residual concerns must be addressed at the transit damage stage below.
3. Order Cancellation
3.1 Before Embroidery Commences
Cancellations requested within 48 hours of order confirmation may be eligible for KURU store credit equal to the full order value, minus payment gateway transaction charges (typically 2–3%). Store credit is issued in accordance with Section 6 below. Please email hello@kurustudio.in with your order number.
3.2 After Embroidery Has Commenced
Once embroidery work has begun, cancellations are not accepted. The order cannot be cancelled or credited at this stage, as significant artisanal time and materials have been committed to your piece.
3.3 Commissioned Works
Commissioned artworks follow a milestone-based payment structure communicated at the time of commission. Once a milestone payment is made, that portion is non-refundable and non-creditable, as it corresponds to work already completed.
4. Returns for Transit Damage
We take every measure to package our artworks securely. However, if your artwork arrives damaged due to a transit incident:
4.1 Eligibility
• Damage must have occurred during transit (not as a result of handling after delivery).
• You must notify us within 48 hours of receipt via email at hello@kurustudio.in.
• Your notification must include: clear photographs or a short video of the damaged outer packaging and the artwork itself, along with your order number.
4.2 Resolution
• Upon verification of transit damage, KURU will arrange for pickup of the damaged work at no cost to you.
• We will recreate and re-ship the artwork as a priority. This is our standard resolution for transit damage.
• In exceptional circumstances where recreation is not feasible, we will issue KURU store credit for the full order value, or a monetary refund to your original payment method if you prefer.
📌 Damage claims submitted beyond the 48-hour window, or without adequate photographic / video evidence, cannot be accepted.
5. Incorrect Orders
In the rare event of an incorrect artwork being delivered (wrong piece or wrong specifications versus your confirmed order), please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange pickup and replacement at no cost to you.
6. Store Credit
Where a cancellation or claim is approved under Sections 3 or 4 above, KURU issues the amount as store credit rather than a monetary refund, except where this Policy or applicable law provides otherwise. The following terms apply:
• Issue: Store credit is issued within 7 business days of approval, by email, as a unique credit code registered to your account.
• Validity: Store credit is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Any unused balance expires at the end of this period and cannot be reinstated or extended.
• Use: Store credit may be redeemed against any artwork or commission offered by KURU Creative Studio LLP, including future collections. It may be used across more than one order until the balance is exhausted.
• Value: If an order exceeds your credit balance, the difference is payable at checkout. Store credit is not exchangeable for cash and carries no interest.
• Transfer: Store credit is issued to the original purchaser and is non-transferable unless we agree otherwise in writing.
• Charges: Razorpay and payment gateway transaction charges are non-refundable and are deducted before credit is issued.
Nothing in this Section limits any right to a monetary refund that you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable Indian law, including where an artwork is found to be defective or not as described. Where such a right applies, the refund will be processed to your original payment method within 7 to 10 business days of confirmation.
